Over the course of two years, influencer Angel Victoria Murdock, claimed to be attending graduate school at Duke University to be Physician Assistant. Her content revolved around student life, clinical rotations, and lifestyle vlogs such as “what’s in my PA school bag”. Students in Duke’s PA program began questioning the validity of her story when no one in the graduate school recognized her. The influencer and alleged faux PA student had accepted brand deals and was successful in her influencing career. The mask fell off when the influencer posted pictures of herself outside Duke Chapel shortly after the Class of 2026’s hooding ceremony, prompting students from said class to announce that they in fact did not recognize her at all. The class historian, Kiera (@thekieralee) posted a video to TikTok soon after explaining her astonishment at the situation and confirming that Angela was not a part of the program. Kiera goes on to say, “you do not get to cosplay the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life”.
